Executive MBA students at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business recently tackled real-world business challenges in their Executive Multidisciplinary Action Projects (ExecMAP) course. This term, 19 diverse projects were undertaken, including a notable project with Microsoft aimed at addressing AI training needs in the healthcare sector.
The Project:
A team of six EMBA students, including professionals from consulting, healthcare, and product management, collaborated on a Microsoft-sponsored project to develop a framework for assessing and addressing AI skills gaps in healthcare. Their solution, the LEADERS framework, is designed to facilitate strategic upskilling across various industries.
The Experience:
The project allowed students to apply classroom theories in strategy and innovation management to real business situations, enhancing their skills in leadership and project management. The collaboration with Microsoft provided them with a platform to influence future AI applications in healthcare and beyond.
The Outcome:
The team’s comprehensive approach included consultations with industry CEOs and led to the creation of an adaptable online AI education module. Their efforts culminated in a detailed report and strategic recommendations presented to Microsoft, aimed at enhancing AI integration across sectors.
