Being awarded the Women’s Merit Scholarship for my Masters in Financial Analysis at London Business School (LBS) was more than a financial boon; it was a nod to my past endeavors and future aspirations. The scholarship, awarded without a separate application, underscored LBS’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, resonating deeply with my values and making LBS an undeniable choice for my further education.
As a beneficiary, the scholarship relieved the financial pressures of studying abroad, allowing me to immerse fully in the LBS experience. It propelled me into leadership roles, like joining the Black in Business Executive Committee, where I played a part in nurturing a supportive community and promoting career advancement for black professionals.
Moreover, my involvement in the Student Philanthropy Council highlighted the importance of scholarships in providing accessible educational opportunities, a cause close to my heart. Coming from Ghana, I am keenly aware of the disparities in educational access, and this scholarship has further fueled my commitment to create pathways for those in similar positions.
This journey at LBS, supported by the Women’s Merit Scholarship, has been transformative, not only in an academic sense but also in instilling a strong sense of community and responsibility towards fostering inclusivity and empowerment in the professional realm.
