In the Summer Term at Cambridge Judge Business School, 2022/23 MBA students embarked on a unique journey to Berlin, Germany for the inaugural MBA International Business Student Trip (IBST), led by Dr. Michael Kitson and Dr. Christopher Marquis. This trip provided students an in-depth look into the intricate world of international business within Europe’s largest economy.
The Berlin experience was a blend of classroom learning and real-world exposure. Lectures delved into themes like globalisation, innovation in the global economy, and the influence of institutions on economic and cultural landscapes. More hands-on encounters involved visits to diverse businesses in Germany, ranging from a leading pharmaceutical firm to a start-up focusing on carbon accounting solutions, a local craft brewery, and a social impact entity. Furthermore, students engaged in an innovation forum, gaining insights from local experts about the city’s innovation ecosystem.
Apart from the academic and corporate experiences, students enriched their trip by exploring Berlin’s rich history and culture. They cruised the Spree river, marveled at iconic sites like the Brandenburg Gate and East Side Gallery, and enjoyed a special dinner at The Dome of the Reichstag Building.
The trip, a high point to conclude their MBA program, was made possible thanks to the Austral Education Group and the dedicated Cambridge MBA Programme Team. Those interested in such enriching opportunities can explore more on the Cambridge MBA Curriculum pages.
