My First Month as an LBS Student: The Journey Begins

The LBS experience for the Graduate Masters class of 2025 began well before the official start on August 27th. For many students, including myself, the adventure kicked off early with spontaneous social gatherings. Arriving in London on August 15th, I was immediately drawn into an impromptu pub meet-up with 40 other incoming students. It became clear that life at LBS would be an intense social experience—one that demanded strong memory skills and endless energy.

By the time the Graduate Masters Welcome Fair took place on August 22nd, we had already started forming close bonds. The day was filled with vibrant networking and so much conversation that, sadly, not all the food was eaten (though I managed to grab some falafel).

The Official Start: Orientation and Community Building

The formal start at LBS came with Orientation, a celebratory event held at The Brewery. While described as a kick-off for the year, it was much more. Meeting over 700 students from incredibly diverse backgrounds, it was clear that LBS’ focus on diversity was more than just words—it was at the heart of the student experience. We also received inspiration from faculty, directors, and alumni, setting the stage for what would be an exciting journey ahead.

Away Day and Career Focus

Early bonding events like Away Day pushed us out of our comfort zones, strengthening relationships within our study groups and streams. Meanwhile, career sessions led by faculty and industry experts began, reinforcing the balance LBS strikes between social connection and professional development. We quickly realized that LBS isn’t just about academics; it’s about becoming the best version of yourself for your future career.

Looking Ahead: Building the Future

Although it’s hard to believe, it’s only been a month since we officially started. In that short time, we’ve begun assignments, joined multiple clubs, and built a support network that’s making this year an unforgettable journey. Our time at LBS will shape us both personally and professionally, preparing us for an exciting future ahead.
