Megan Grossman ’25, an MBA student at Yale School of Management (SOM), spent her summer as a consultant intern at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she worked on optimizing customer service spending for a financial services client. Originally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Grossman had spent four years in manufacturing prior to business school and aimed to pivot into consulting.
She attributes her successful transition to her experience in Yale SOM’s Discovery Projects through the Yale Center for Customer Insights (YCCI). These projects, which involved working on marketing consulting for real-world clients like Mastercard, helped her build key skills in data analysis, strategic insights, and stakeholder communication—skills she used daily at BCG.
Grossman’s project at BCG involved analyzing spending patterns and developing recommendations for customer service improvements, building upon her prior experience with large datasets. Her time at BCG also helped her further hone her presentation and communication skills.
Beyond the professional growth, Grossman enjoyed networking with BCG colleagues, attending intern events, and exploring New York City’s vibrant dining scene. She looks forward to building on her first-year MBA experience as she prepares for a full-time role in consulting after graduation.
