Ivey Business School’s MBA students participated in the annual Social Impact Day, volunteering at various non-profit organizations around London to better understand and address community needs. A total of 155 students, along with their guests, split into groups to support six local organizations through diverse activities, including meal and clothing delivery, painting, cleaning, and gardening.
Organizations supported included 519Pursuit, Habitat for Humanity, LIFE*SPIN, ReForest London, SARI Therapeutic Riding, and Urban Roots London. The event, organized by students, aimed to reflect the school’s mission to foster leaders who contribute to a sustainable and prosperous world.
Speakers at the event, such as MBA student Bani Sehgal and Associate Professor Darren Meister, highlighted the significant but achievable impacts these volunteer efforts have on breaking cycles of need and building community resilience. Students expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute hands-on help and to learn from the experience, emphasizing the value of stepping out of the classroom to make a tangible difference.
The day was not only a learning experience but also a demonstration of Ivey’s commitment to community engagement, leaving both the organizations and students enriched by the mutual exchange.
