Reaching Out MBA Fellow Advances 2SLGBTQ+ Allyship at Ivey

Since 2020, Ivey has partnered with Reaching Out MBA Inc. (ROMBA) to provide fellowships to two MBA students each year, offering a $20,000 scholarship, exclusive programming, and access to a ROMBA alumni network.

Mayank Agarwal, MBA ’24 candidate, applied for the fellowship to find a supportive network after hiding his sexuality in India. In Canada, he embraced diversity and openness.

Leading with Pride
As a ROMBA Fellow and President of the MBA Association’s Pride Club, Agarwal connects with his cohort, challenges stereotypes, and encourages open conversations about the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Allyship in Action
Agarwal appreciates the curiosity from classmates outside the 2SLGBTQ+ community, answering their questions and promoting understanding. He stresses the importance of creating a safe space for closeted individuals.

School-wide Support
Involved in planning Pride celebrations, Agarwal aims to foster allyship and support within the Ivey community.
