Patricia Harrison, Director of Admissions, Evaluation and Yield at Tuck School of Business, has announced the essay questions for the 2023-2024 application season for the Class of 2026. While the application will open soon, the following prompts have been shared in advance:
- Candidates must explain why they are pursuing an MBA now and how the Tuck MBA specifically will help them achieve their career goals and aspirations (300 words).
- Applicants are asked to share insights about their identity and character, elaborating on how their values and experiences have shaped them, and how their background will contribute to the diverse Tuck culture and community (300 words).
- Applicants need to describe a time when they have significantly contributed to someone else’s sense of inclusion in their professional or personal community (300 words).
Reapplicants have an additional prompt requiring them to reflect on how they have strengthened their candidacy since their last application, with a focus on their personal and professional growth (300 words).
There’s also an optional prompt that allows applicants to provide any additional insights or information not addressed elsewhere in their application, such as an atypical choice of references, factors affecting academic performance, or unexplained job gaps or changes (300 words).
The application process at Tuck is considered an opportunity for self-reflection and the school is eager to learn about the applicants through these prompts. More advice and guidance on the essay prompts will be provided in the upcoming Admissions Insights blog.
