In an interview with ESSEC Executive Education, Yatin Nanda, a Senior Consultant at PwC Middle East, shares how the Global MBA – Strategy and Management program at ESSEC helped him steer his career towards his preferred sector and international market.
Having previously worked with McKinsey & Company, Nanda held a keen interest in the tourism and hospitality sector, which he pursued post-MBA. Now based in Dubai, he reflects on the vital role ESSEC played in helping him achieve his career objectives.
He chose ESSEC’s Global MBA for its international experience, diversity and inclusion, small cohort size, robust career support, and an industry-relevant curriculum focused on management roles. From the program’s outset, Nanda had a clear objective: to work as an international consultant in the travel sector.
He credits ESSEC for equipping him with essential skills, such as effective networking in a global context, deriving impact from diverse teams, and leading with compassion. Nanda also highlights the value of resilience during the COVID-impacted academic year.
Currently, he is serving in PwC Middle East’s Tourism & Hospitality Global Centre of Excellence, a role he directly links to his GMBA experience. Reflecting on the program, he fondly remembers a team bonding trip to Chablis, which he describes as a phenomenal experience contributing to the cohort’s unity.
